FOR ROLENE

A note from my mama,
"When a person comes into your life and inspires you to want to be better and treats you like you are some one really special, that friendship is a gift from God. How grateful I am for my dear friend. She lost her fight against cancer today. She was strong, courageous, hopeful, positive, caring every moment! She taught me so much about being a mother and wife. I will miss her. I will always honour her and do all I can for her beautiful daughter, as she has always done for my daughters."

The pulling of heartstrings at times can be very magical and happy.
But there are also times when heartstrings are so worn out, so pulled this way and that, that that little heart beating fiercely inside can barely keep up.
Those heartstrings get tired.
But they do need exercise.
Just as a smile, when it is given much movement it is given growth. When a heart is used and tugged around every which way it grows. It becomes strengthened.
Even if it does feel like the most heart-wrenching time and that dear heart can barely hold on; the moment will pass.
And just as quickly as it beat beyond control and intensity, it will return to that steady pace it always had.
Those heartstrings are down right resilient.
The great part of it is that it is much more than an organ.
It is a force.
It is a gift.
It is the power that give people life.
It is the push that causes people to do good. To love.
People follow it. Their hearts, of course and sweetness pumps through their veins. Heartstrings. Take care of them.
Because someday they will stop. And that day will seem to continue just as it had minutes before. Cars will pass. Wind will blow. And maybe some may not even know a heart has ceased.
Never mind and never fret because those heartstrings and that heart doesn't need to always be pumping.
It never really stops.
That kindness, that force, that goodness and that love will continue to pump in
your daughter,
your husband
and your friend's heartstrings.
And then they will pass it along, too.
And it will continue.
Heartstring to Heartstring.
And your heart strings will not be sore.
They will be pulled.
And they will feel magical and happy.
Smile.
Every heartstring you have touched;
Feels loved.

...Thank you for the friendship you gave to my mom. Thank you for your brave, positive journey against cancer. Thank you for the excitement you had for each of the skating girls. Thank you for loving my family. And thank you for insisting to care for others when you were hurting and in pain. Thank you for your heart and your goodness.

It comforts me to know that your precious Spirit is with our Heavenly Father.
