Sarah and I travelled Europe together.
Then to Rexburg.

And now she came to visit me in Canada.

It was wonderful and today this wonderful girl has chosen to become a missionary. She will be gone for one year and a half! And I will be thinking of her. Sometimes you find people who you are just tied at the heart. You go girl.

Carly's race with Team Diabetes Canada is tomorrow! At approximately 4:00am (Saturday August, 20th) Kenora-time we will be awake cheering on my dear sister in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Click here to watch it, too
(select 1/2 marathon)
...or come over and watch it with us!
I am so proud of her!
She has fundraised $6, 100 throughout the year. Thank you to all who donated. What is so wonderful  about Carly Beth is although she is afflicted with diabetes in her own life, she most definitely did not raise that money selfishly. She lives with diabetes every day of her life and she knows how it feels. She raised that money for research and awareness. Maybe someday another 23 year old doesn't have to feel like that. She's running tomorrow for them. Whoever they may be...
 And that is amazing.

This weekend, wishes were blown up and away.

For Carly Beth's birthday we travelled to a quaint house on the side of the lake. It was a perfectly calm night. The woman who lives at this particularly magical place had music playing from records as we tiptoed down her stone path. There we stood in the warm summer night waiting for the lantern to fill; our wishes to be wished inside the light, tissue paper. We watched in complete silence as the lantern blew further and further. It didn't feel as if we would never see it again, but more that it would come around after it made it's course through the big, wide world in the lovely sky.

"Quietude and Reverence....it's what the world needs."

Look up, curl into a warm homemade blanket. Lie down on the cool dock. It seemed as if the sky was celebrating the wish that had just been blown into the universe ever so slightly. Northern Lights danced here and there gracefully across the sky. Eyes had to look twice to know they were really there. But they were. And so were we. Lying on the dock. Together and warm. We were there. And our wishes were once there, too.

Wishes are meant to be wished. Put into the sky and believed that they will in fact come true, one way or another.

I love helping photography students with homework! I've been lucky enough to do it a few times. It's just so fun to see the excitement that comes through the lens and into the eyes of the aspiring photographer. Especially in beautiful Kenora.
And now....

Is there anything better than laughing so much that your stomach hurts? I think not.
It is by far one of my favourite, most rewarding pastimes. (Especially when it's with someone whom I particularly adore).
Here's an example:
Sometimes you just have to laugh at the little things. Little silly things.

 Happy Laughing!
